Give your child the opportunity to create, perform, record, and produce in a real professional recording studio.

The Stadibng Ovation After School Recording & Music Production Academy is an immersive 10-week program where students explore music production, audio engineering, songwriting, and studio recording while working alongside experienced industry professionals. Instead of simply learning about the recording process, students become part of it, producing original music from concept to a finished recording.

Hosted at Ovation Sound in Downtown Winston-Salem, this small-group experience provides individualized instruction in a professional studio environment. Whether students are musicians, singers, aspiring producers, or simply curious about how music is made, they'll gain valuable technical and creative skills while collaborating with other young artists.

Throughout the program, students will:

Every session emphasizes creativity, teamwork, critical thinking, and hands-on learning. Students spend their time creating in the same type of environment used by professional musicians, producers, and recording engineers.

Instruction is led by Bill Stevens, producer, engineer, composer, arranger, performer, and educator with Ovation Sound.

Bill grew up in a musical family and studied guitar at Berklee College of Music, composition at the North Carolina School of the Arts, and Recording Arts and Music Business at Winston-Salem State University, where he won the university's concerto competition. He later earned an MFA in Composition from Vermont College of Fine Arts.

Since joining Ovation Sound in 2007, Bill has produced and engineered projects across nearly every musical genre, including classical, jazz, gospel, R&B, bluegrass, folk, Americana, rock, heavy metal, and musical theater. Working alongside Grammy-nominated artists and producers, he brings years of professional studio experience into every class while helping young musicians discover their own creative voice.
